Santiago Mauricio Vaca Espinosa
He was born in Quito, Ecuador. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Warren Wilson College in North Carolina and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arizona. His artwork has been exhibited in many galleries throughout the United States as well as Scotland, Ecuador, and Peru.
Currently, his work has taken on to the exploration of mixed media on paper; using collage, photos, xeroxes, drawing and painting, to create dynamic aesthetic statements.
He is an Assistant Professor of Art at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago where he has been teaching painting and drawing since 1990. |
